It seems to me that such a phenomenon speaks only of the incredible popularity of a particular medium, when consumers simply cease to notice its competitors.
Composition and types of product
Vaseline is a purified mixture of liquid and solid carbohydrates, turned into a greasy mass that does not have any taste or smell.
Ideally cleaned medical petrolatum should have a pure white color. Not enough purified or technical product can be from yellow to dark brown.
Vaseline is not soluble in water and alcohol, but it is perfectly mixed with all oils, except castor oil.
This product can be divided into natural and artificial. The first is obtained from deciduous paraffin resins, which are subjected to further purification and bleaching with special substances.

Artificial petroleum jelly is a far less useful thing. It is a compound of perfume oil with solid ceresin and paraffin. In principle, it is a product of oil refining. Such petrolatum is less viscous, has a dull white or yellowish tint.
Vaseline Use Options

I couldn’t think for a long time what to do, until just before going to bed I didn’t turn to Google for advice, who suggested that I wash my makeup off with Vaseline.

For lips. Honestly, lips are my biggest problem. They constantly peel off and seem to burst into corners. It hurts and ugly.
I have several special balms in stock, but they only help for a while, after which the problem comes back. I will not lie and say that Vaseline saved me. Not.
But for those with less problematic lips, I think it will come in handy.
Only my personal advice: apply Vaseline for the night, walking the whole day with a rather unpleasant substance on the lips is not the best option.
For body. Vaseline is a great base for an inexpensive and very simple body peeling. Just mix it with salt to get a salt scrub or with large brown sugar for sugar and apply the resulting mass to the wet skin. It remains to carefully massage the body. The result is a mild exfoliation of dead cells and softening of the skin.
For treatment. It turns out that petroleum jelly can lubricate injured spots, burns, fissures, desiccated nasal mucosa, spots affected by psoriasis and so on. Only it is very important during treatment to use the product in a very thin layer and not to abuse it daily.
From scars. Immediately, I note that petroleum jelly does not help to cope with acne, but it is possible to smooth out their effects a little - the scars. Only it is very important to smear the areas affected by acne before the scars become rough.
For eyelashes. To this end, I use petroleum jelly most often. The fact is that I have not the best eyelashes, they are quite rare and short and not a single mascara gives me the desired effect. Once, at one video blogger, I heard a recommendation: before applying cosmetics, we cover the cilia with a thin layer of vaseline. The result is excellent: the eyes are wide open and beautiful. - Vaseline helps to get rid of makeup stains on tissues,
- if you grease the bottle neck with nail polish, the lid will stop to dry on it and you will always be very easy to open the bottle without making any effort,
- manicure lost shine? Take vaseline and rub a small amount of it into your nails - they will shine like you just made up their own colors,
- Before dyeing hair (if you do it at home), apply a little bit of Vaseline on the skin next to the roots, so as not to accidentally stain it with paint. Even if you get dirty - erase everything without a trace in a matter of seconds,
- petrolatum perfectly protects our skin from the harmful effects of the environment, so its use in windy weather is necessary for those who have sensitive skin,
- a thin layer of means on the eyelids will allow to achieve a slightly brilliant, but very beautiful effect,
- Vaseline for men will easily replace after shave balm. As I already said, this product perfectly softens and soothes irritated skin.
